Tigers women’s basketball squad eliminated from AUS championships by UPEI
In their AUS quarterfinal, the Dalhousie Tigers came out strong to start each quarter and kept the deficit within single-digit points late into the game. But a late surge from UPEI was too much to handle, as the Panthers took the game 69-50.
Tigers basketballer represents Germany at FIBA 3×3 U23 Nations League
The Dalhousie University Tigers received some unique representation on the world basketball stage over the summer. Kentzler, from the women’s basketball team, suited up for Germany in the FIBA 3×3 U23 Nations League in July and August. The Gottingen, Germany native’s team played in the Europe 1 conference this summer, which was played across six different stops –– separate locations where a portion of the season’s games are played ––over two months.
Building team culture
After 11 years as head coach of the women’s basketball program at Dalhousie University, Anna Stammberger will retire this spring. She will be succeeded on an interim basis by current assistant coach Anton Berry on April 1, 2021.
Empowering Black and Indigenous coaches
The Nova Scotian Black and Indigenous Coach Mentorship Program was launched in September 2020 by Mark Smith. The program aims to provide a place for young coaches from Black and Indigenous communities to learn about coaching, with an emphasis on providing a well-rounded perspective on it.
