Dal 2 – 0 after easy victory against cross-town rival

For a championship rematch, it was not nearly as competitive as one would expect.

Another hard-fought contest was anticipated following last November’s 11 – 9 victory crowing the Saint Mary’s Huskies league championships for the first time, but that was not the case as the Tigers lacrosse team cruised to a 17 – 8 victory Friday night at Huskies Stadium.

Dal’s Duane Davis potted five of the Tigers 11 markers in the second half en route to the commanding victory while Jamie Dunbar added three more scores in the final quarter. The Tigers had a 6 – 3 lead after the opening 20 minutes.

The win gives the Tigers a 2 – 0 season record following last weekend’s triple overtime triumph over the St. FX X-Men. The Huskies are now owners of a 1 – 1 standing.
