Mariana Luz, Opinions Editor

Mari is going into their third year of a Bachelor of Journalism at King’s with a minor in gender and women’s studies. She started her involvement in the Gazette last year as the assistant arts & culture editor and is excited to step into the role of opinions editor. Over the summer, Mari worked for Briarpatch Magazine as the publishing and editorial assistant, where they learned more about political and independent news. They also host a show at CKDU called “From The Studio,” where they are able to mix her passion for journalism and music. In their free time, they like to watch YouTube video essays and play Settlers of Catan.
