You may have noticed the other day when walking on campus that there was chalk on the ground: ‘Vote Becky Ritcher for VPI.’

Ritcher knows how to market. It’s one of the many reasons she thinks people should vote for her. She says she has a wide range of experience and is well rounded, making her a viable candidate.

“I have knowledge and expertise in public relations, promotions, marketing and also experience with the leadership department with the DSU, having worked as DSU Leadership Commissioner working on Brains for Change.”

With a history in society life and shoulders built for responsibility, Ritcher doesn’t limit herself to small expectations for office if she is elected. Yet, her optimism is coupled with realistic expectations. She wants to continue the work of the current VP (internal) that she says is in the right direction.

“I would like to build upon current relationship between students, administration and faculty and improve web based communications,” she says. She wants to make them consistent by consolidating communication channels between executives and societies. “I would also like to improve next year by maximizing events’ potential and providing more opportunities for students through both funding and mentor-ships.”

She also hopes to leverage partnerships with groups outside the union such as student services, marketing and communications at Dalhousie.

Having spent three years at Dalhousie, Ritcher has a bright vision for the future. She knows the potential it has to be something better. As VP (internal), she would like to improve the culture at Dal and give students the resources to make positive change in the community, both at Dalhousie and in Halifax.
