Lewars gets first Tigers goal in victory

Dalhousie’s men’s soccer team levelled their season record at 1 – 1 Sunday afternoon by defeating the Mount Allison Mounties 1 – 0 at Wickwire Field. The Tigers lost by the same score on Saturday against UPEI.
Tyler Lewars scored the team’s first goal of the season and the only goal of the game in the 26th minute. A nifty play into the middle by rookie Bezick Evraire resulted in Lewars’ blast to the top half of the goal.
Once they scored, the Tigers showed the ability to defend and sit on a lead. With the team not playing again until Sept. 17 in Moncton, they will have some time to work on their timing and set pieces in the week ahead.
