Patrick Daley and Benoit Gervais each had a goal for the Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey team, but it was not enough as they fell 5 – 2 to Moncton Saturday night at Memorial Arena.

It was the team’s third straight loss after they opened the exhibition schedule on the road last Monday against the reigning champion UNB Varsity Reds and then opposite the St. FX X-Men. Dal lost both contests by a combined score of 16 – 1.

What started as an even game turned into a lacklustre effort for the Tigers, which saw them fall behind midway through the second period. After a scoreless first period, Moncton capitalized on a Dal penalty and took the lead.

Moncton capitalized on their chances throughout, while Dal had trouble getting shots through the Aigles Bleus defence.

For an extended recap of the game, read the Sept. 30 edition of the Dalhousie Gazette.
