It was a valiant effort but penalties were what ultimately cost the Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey team a win against the Acadia Axemen on Wednesday night. Liam Heelis’s last-minute goal on the power play gave the Axemen a 5 – 4 victory.

It was the team’s fourth straight loss in what has been a disappointing start to the year, even if it is just the preseason.

Despite the loss, the Tigers played a complete game and were able to find their scoring touch, an element the team has struggled with in previous contests. Good forechecking led to the Tigers controlling the puck for most of the night.

For an extended recap of the game, check the Oct. 7 edition of the Dalhousie Gazette.
