Nortmann’s 30 points not enough

The Tigers may have found their new star player, but what they haven’t found yet is their first win.

Fifth-year Robert Nortmann was nothing sort of sensational, scoring 30 and adding nine boards in what was a losing effort for Dalhousie. Even with Nortmann’s captivating individual performance, the Tigers wound up falling 85 – 71 to St. FX Nov. 12 at the Dalplex.

Dal is now 0 – 2 on the young season. The X-Men have instead won their opening two matches.

The first quarter was an offensive firestorm as both teams quickly traded baskets; however, the other frames left St. FX in charge of the barrage as the Tigers defence broke down midway through the second quarter and did not repair itself.

St. FX had four players with over 10 points in the match. Terry Thomas led the way scoring 19, and was joined by Jeremy Dunn, Rodrigo Madera and Marquis Clayton.

For an extended recap of the game, check the Nov. 18 edition of the Dalhousie Gazette.
