The UNB Saint John Seawolves picked up where they left off last season, using a dominant second half to win their season opener Saturday afternoon against the host Dalhousie Tigers.

The championship rematch found the reigning champs winners once again as they used a potent ground game to pound the Tigers defensive line and grind out a 33 – 6 victory.

Despite the lopsided scoreline, the Tigers were behind just 13 – 6 at the half, but ran out of steam midway through the third quarter before the coaching staff began rotating out their starters.

The Seawolves opened the scoring with two first-quarter touchdowns from Charlie Harroun. The Tigers sole touchdown came from Brock Schmuland in the second quarter.
