During the Dalhousie Gazette’s live-tweeting of the Dalhousie Student Union council meeting of August 6, 2014, our @dalgazette Twitter page published tweets containing inaccurate quotes.

We apologize for any confusion or distress that may have resulted from tweets being published that included quotes appearing to contain the exact words of those speaking at the meeting, while their words had actually been paraphrased.

As the Dalhousie Gazette treats issues of misrepresentation very seriously, we are committed to providing full and accurate notice whenever quotes are shortened or paraphrased in any medium of reporting. During future live-tweeting sessions, the Dalhousie Gazette will provide clear notice when quotes are paraphrased or shortened.
