The first images and videos from the Gazette’s ace team of editors (aka, whoever we could drag out to get bodies down there to cover this story) are just being sorted and posted now.

If you haven’t been following the story, Mayor Peter Kelly’s administration issued an eviction notice to the protesters at Victoria Park at noon today, just as Remembrance Day ceremonies were winding down. Acting CAO Mike Labrecque signed the notice, and by 2 p.m. the police were there in full force to evict the protesters. Occupy Nova Scotia had said they would vacate the site by 11 a.m. on Saturday, 23 hours after the first notice. Police gave them until 10 p.m. tonight.

As it stands now, the CBC reports that 14 people have been arrested on charges of obstruction of justice. The eviction notice was served as an enforcement of bylaws prohibiting camping in a public place.
