After losing three straight times to St. FX this season, the Tigers men’s basketball team switched their fortunes for the better Jan. 29 at the Dalplex.

Dal’s 79 – 68 victory was especially special for the fifth-place Tigers as their triumph over St. FX showed their AUS opponents that Dal is capable of hanging with the big boys. The Tigers are now just two points behind third-place St. FX and Cape Breton, which are both tied for 22 points.

The victory was the Tigers’ second in three games.

Player of the game Robert Nortmann had a double-double in the contest, contributing 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Tigers. On the opposing side, Terry Thomas led the X-Men with 17 points.

For an extended recap of the game, check the Feb. 3 edition of the Dalhousie Gazette.
